I am Michaelina Nelson from the community of Babonneau married with two grown children. I am a small farmer house wife and cake decorator. I have been farming for the past fifteen years but it is not without its ups and downs. The months of July to October are the most difficult months for my farm. These are the rainy months and production is usually low.
I have been making cakes since 1995 taking the courses in intermediate and advance decorating, this brings in additional income.
I have been a member of the St Lucia Network of Rural Women Producers Babonneau Cluster since its inception in 2008 I am the Public Relations Officer for the Babonneau Cluster and the National Chapter – SLNRWP. I have attended many workshops which have been very beneficial to me. I am enjoying the group and always look forward to our meetings. I look forward for more benefits in this group.
